It was a brilliant and remarkable story. I almost read it three times and its remains in my mind passionately. After the first reading, I felt scary to search information on Mona Fandey in Google. The writer, M.Navin had created terrifying and curiosity feeling among the readers. I feel bloodcurdling when the narrator played the cassette. I was expecting to hear something from it but it was a mystery music, listened by Ismail. The song was especially composed and sang by Mona Fandey for her die-hearted fan (Ismail). I also feel that she is still alive in the musical world. This, we can see clearly through the parrot’s reaction while listening to the music. Animals can explore the complex mysteries of the animals’ consciousness.

Most of the musicians or vocalists will be impress with this story because they are few parts of the story emphasis approximately on some musical elements deeply. As a vocalist, I am touched with the few lines as below.

“ராகத்துடன் அமைந்த கடிதம் மனதை விட்டு என்றுமே அகலாது என தாமதமாகத்தான் புரிந்தது. “.

“ஆனால் அதை கேட்கும் ரசனையுள்ளவர்கள் அப்போது இல்லாததால் கொஞ்சம் தரம் குறைத்து ‘டியானா’ ஆல்பத்தை வெளியிட்டதாக எழுதியிருந்தாள்”.

“அவரது வாய், ஈறு தெரிய அசைந்து கொண்டிருந்தது. கால்களில் சிறு தாளம். வலது கரம் காற்றில் நூதனமாக அலைந்துகொண்டிருந்தது. மூடிய கண்கள் இடுங்கி புருவங்கள் துடித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தன. அவர் தொண்டை ஒடுங்கியும் புடைத்தும் அசைந்துகொண்டிருந்தது. நாசி விரிந்து விரிந்து அடங்கியது”.

I was astonished after read those lines above. Those who involved in music can understand these lines deeply. A poem or any line with music always remains in our mind and it is always understood better. Music will make you to feel the emotion behind each words. I’m sure Ismail would have understood even more deeply after he has to know about the Hindustani Raaga which Mona Fandey has mansion in her letter. Mona fandey seems to have a cloud of sadness because she has written the letter in Miya ki Todi Raaga. This particular Raaga is for mostly pervaded by a pensive and mournful mood. Mona Fandey could be in deep sorrow while writing this letter. I guest she is keep searching for the proper fans group who could understand her first album, which was not release. She might thought that Ismail could understand her first album songs; maybe this could be the reason why the letter and the cassette reached to Ismail. Ismail believed that he has taken the cassette thievery from her room but as a magician, she has chosen him and passed it to Ismail because Mona Fandey finds someone who can understand her music. The ending of the story is simply superb. The explanation on face expression of Ismail while singing is an outstanding depiction.

At the end of this story, I realized that any art form does not persist, if there is no enthusiasts. Mona Fandey’s music cassette will not get away from Ismail until it finds another enthusiast. Thanks for a wonderful story sir and keep writing.
